SUMMARY: I don't have any issues of Godey's yet - it's an expensive antique to acquire - but I've been sent a comprehensive list of all the tatting articles published in its pages by Hope Wright, Librarian Without Portfolio Extraordinaire, that she has graciously allowed me to share with you. It doesn't usually occur to people to consider how many invested hours such lists require to compile, so I'm pointing this out to everyone. If you should ever encounter this gracious lady, please take the time to thank her for her work on all our behalfs. I am always amazed and grateful when people find me and send me these things. We are all in Hope's debt. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!

March 1865; April 1866; January 1868 Abbreviations used. Nothing for a chain. It appears what we now call a ring was called a Loop.
June 1866 Collar uses modern join and chain but it was called a bar.
September 1867 Terms used in tatting, describes knotting and lace wheels. The chain was called “a straight thread.” 2 edging patterns.
October 1867 Simple Vandyke edging.
November 1867 Corfu Lace Antimacassar of loops (rings), no chains.
