SUMMARY: This is a sister magazine to "Magic Crochet" - same publisher, same editor, pretty much the exact same type of patterns from the same stable of professional designers. I got interested in it when I came across references that Elizabeth Hiddleson had published in it as well as in "Magic Crochet". Mrs Rousset had a stable of popular designers that she used extensively to fill her pages. The patterns in this periodical are also diagrammed rather than presented in written instructions. I do not know how easy or hard this is on the crocheter. I happened across a small handful of issues in my mom's storage unit when we were cleaning them out, and set them aside to get this page set up. I'm sorry I don't have more of them. I will catalog more as I am able. At least for now, you have some idea what this particular magazine was about...
Measurements I give for round projects like doilies and tablecloths are the diameter, not the circumference or radius.
The last issue I've seen for this title was from late(November Issue #96) 2003, but that is definitely not definitive. Can anyone clue me in on when "Decorative Crochet" stopped publication?
HOW TO MAKE THIS MAGAZINE CATALOG SEARCHABLE:
METHOD ONE(downside is it takes some effort and time):
1. Open a blank page in your favorite word processing program.
2. Right click and "SELECT ALL"
3. Right click and "COPY"
4. "PASTE" or CTRL"V" what you copied into the blank page(it could take a while depending on the size of the page)
5. Use the search function as you normally would. Try to stick to only one word, since authors will sometimes use their middle initial, then not, change names, etc.
6. Trash the blank page when you're done.
METHOD TWO(downside is you have to wade through a lot of HTML code to read the entries):
1. Right click and "VIEW SOURCE". This will bring up a second window that will give you a behind-the-stage look at my coding along with the entries. There is a search function on source pages.
Use it as you would the search function for a word processor(see METHOD 1). Close the Source page when you're done.
