Title: Cats, Rats & Other Creatures: 15 Patterns & Design Techniques
Author: Neysa A. Phillippi
Publication Date: TPB:2004
Publisher: Reverie Publishing Co., Cumberland, MD
Page Count: 144
Book Dimensions(ht. x w.): 11" x 8 1/2"
ISBN: 1932485139

PATTERN RATING:Star Rating Patterns are very well marked(including the name of the critter on each pattern piece!), full size, and look like the creature they're supposed to represent - it they happened to come in funky colors and cartoon land. The patterns will have to by photocopied out of the book, which might be tricky not to damage the spine - but none of the pattern pieces fall into the ditch, so it IS doable.

INSTRUCTION RATING:Star Rating Instructions are well broken down and well supported with illustration.

BONUS MECHANICS RATING:Star Rating She gets bonus stars for all the clever tips and amazing originality of her creations. I have never seen anyone else's work remotely like Neysa's, and there is a lot of spark there to ignite other's enthusiasm.

SUMMARY- I love Love LOVE this book. I realize her style might not be for everyone - she is sooo off the beaten path - but how can you not instantly fall in love with Pig Floyd? All of her creatures have a powerful visual impact and make you want to pick them up. They are awesome!
