Title: The Yarn Animal Book: Complete, step-by-step instructions and over 450 how-to diagrams for making the most delightful menagerie ever - in crewel, needlepoint, knitting, crochet and many more favorite yarn techniques
Author: Caroline M. Staples
Publication Date: HC:1976
Publisher: Simon and Schuster, NY
Page Count: 224
Book Dimensions(ht. x w.): 11 1/4" x 8 3/4"
ISBN: 0671223364
PATTERN RATING: Patterns are gridded but otherwise unmarked. There is very little detail to them, though several are gussetted. There is a fairly wide variety.
INSTRUCTION RATING: Instructions are well broken down and there is some illustration to go with them.
SUMMARY- This book is very different from any other soft toy book by giving a wide variety of disciplines to make toys in, including latch hook and crewel embroidery. The patterns are quite dated, but are interesting in the comparison of disciplines all encompassed in the same book.
