Title: The Wish Booklet: Fashioning Miniatures, Vol. XXII
Author: Susan Bonsall Sirkis
Publication Date: Booklet:1979
Publisher: The Wish Booklets, Williamsburg, VA
Page Count: 49
Book Dimensions(ht. x w.): 11" x 8 1/2"
ISBN: 0-913786-22-5

PATTERN RATING:Star Rating. All the pattern pieces are full-sized, marked with seam allowances and have a few other markings to aid the seamstress(no grainline markings) - but the patterns are for miniature figures, so markings are at a minimum necessarily. There are more patterns for furniture and accessories than for clothes for the figures.

INSTRUCTION RATING:Star Rating These aren't basic books for beginners - she expects you to know the terms she's using and to have experience putting garments together, so instructions are fairly brief. You get layouts for the rooms she has designed, and methods for constructing many of the items that are listed as going into those rooms.

SUMMARY- This book was dedicated to Elizabeth Fisher and her husband, Pop. Mrs. Sirkis was a frequent contributor to the well-loved magazine "The Toy Trader" - of which Mrs. Fisher was the editor and publisher. I'm still looking for many issues to fill in my run, but do have the bib page up for this title - you can access it through the magazine section of the main bib page. Mrs. Sirkis' patterns appeared in its pages for many years, as well as fascinating articles. Mrs. Sirkis is a miniatures enthusiast, and it shows in this addition to the Wishbook line.

You can still get Susan's books directly at www.susansirkis.com/wishbooks.htm at $7.95 postage paid - far cheaper than what e-bay sellers are asking for them(usually about double - and you pay for postage on top of that!). They are well worth the investment if you like dressing your dollies in vintage styles!
