INSTRUCTION RATING: Instructions are broken down fairly well and you get picture tutorials to go with them.
SUMMARY- There are no patterns, per se. Needlefelting is a sculptural art and much like clay you are adding, not whittling off like wood sculpture. I found her birds pretty basic, with little detail other than the right basic shape and color schemes with poseable feet(wrapped pipecleaners). I bought this book for the peacock pattern, and was mildly disappointed. I think it was because the eyes had the bare minimum of detail one would expect. This would be a great beginner book for getting the feel of the felting needles and putting shapes together - birds aren't all that complicated a form but they do have a form so... Otherwise, I'd look for more advanced books.
