Title: The Woman's Day Book of Soft Toys and Dolls
Author: Joan Russell
Publication Date: Hardcover:1975
Publisher: Simon & Schuster
Page Count: 255
Book Dimensions(ht. x w.): 11 1/4" x 8 1/2"
ISBN: 0671220853
PATTERN RATING: . The patterns are all actual size, but you'll have to add your own seam allowance. The patterns have some a-b-c marking to help the sewer – but not a lot. A huge variety of patterns are offered AND they are grouped to support play of various subjects or books. They are all fairly simplistic and lack a lot of the detail in face and paws that I like to see.
INSTRUCTION RATING: . Instructions are broken down by body part, and there are no illustrations, so I wouldn't give this book to a beginning sewer.
SUMMARY- This book is about making the toys they present, and they present a huge variety. They just aren't my cup-o-tea. I should point out that this book has been reprinted about 10 times since 1965, so it has a following.
