Title: Fist Puppetry
Author: David Fredrick Milligan
Publication Date: 1938
Publisher: AS Barnes & Company, NY
Page Count: 130
Book Dimensions(ht. x w.): 7 1/2" x 5 1/4"
ISBN: None
PATTERN RATING: . Chapters 4 and 5 are the only areas of this book that deal with the actual making of puppets - less than 30 pages (Less than 15, if you don't count Chapter 14 because it deals with carving in wood or clay sculpting rather than soft sculpture.)
INSTRUCTION RATING: . Instructions are sketchy with few illustrations to help the crafter, and even fewer photos.
SUMMARY- This book may have more interest to a puppeteer for its historical value than for its value as an instruction book in puppet/toy making. I bought it primarily because of its age and the other books by this publisher listed on the back cover. I often use one publication to sleuth out other publications from the same time period.
