Title: Making Felt Toys and Glove Puppets
Author: Suzy Ives
Publication Date: HC:1971
Publisher: B.T. Batsford Ltd., London, UK
Page Count: 88
Book Dimensions(ht. x w.): 8 3/4" x 5 1/2"
ISBN: 0823150291
SUMMARY- The basic glove puppet is very simple - and you draw it yourself in order to fit your own hand. Then you applique/embroider the features you want on the simple puppet shape. There are no photos of any of the toys made up - just illustrations and very basic patterns with no helpful markings to aid the sewer - better already know what you're doing. Despite all my misgivings, I do like the details they give for applying to the puppets, and the skeleton puppet if done in black felt with a black background behind it, would look pretty dramatic for a Halloween puppet show. There is some energy and creativeness in this book, and it is meant for kids to be able to use.
