MARTHA HOLCOMBE ROOT
I know her for her wonderfully detailed and cute soft toy pattern line, but she also apparently put out an extremely popular line of figurines(All Gods Children™), and sold soft sculpture heads already made and stuffed, with bodies you could buy made up and read to stuff, and doll-making supplies like the long needles necessary for soft sculpture, and iron-on transfer eyes and mouths, and I've seen at least one candlewicking pattern book and a wood cut-out pattern book - so she was striving for a full-service dolling business. Miss Martha Originals™ began in 1980. I do not know when it ended
