Title: Sew Today's Fashions for 18-Inch Dolls: Full-size Patterns for Clothing and Accessories
Author: Joan Hinds
Publication Date: TPB:2004
Publisher: Krause Publications, Iola, WI
Page Count: 128
Book Dimensions(ht. x w.): 11" x 8 1/2"
ISBN: 0-87349-772-4
PATTERN RATING: You get a great variety of patterns for girl dolls. Patterns are full-size, but don't have a lot of markings(no grainline!), so if you don't know what you're doing, you could get in trouble. Patterns are all collected in the back of the book separate from the instrucions.
INSTRUCTION RATING: Instructions are very well broken down, and you get a lot of great illustration to go with them. You get a great photo of the finished clothing.
SUMMARY- I'm never disappointed with Ms. Hind's books - they're all so well executed, and her designs have beautiful detail. If you are a fan of the American Girl dolls and want to make your own wardrobe for her, Ms. Hinds' books are a "must have". They also put out a great newsletter - "Fancywork's Best News"(began in Fall 1994!) that ended January 2015 (issue is dated Summer 2013). The torch was passed to Marjie Swoyer's http://www.etsy.com/shop/TooCuteDollDesigns.
