Title: Best Doll Clothes Book
Author: Joan Hinds, Jean Becker
Publication Date: TPB:1997(4th edition)
Publisher: Fancywork and Fashion Press, Duluth, MN
Page Count: 58
Book Dimensions(ht. x w.): 11" x 8 1/2"
ISBN: 0963628755
PATTERN RATING: Seam allowances are 1/4", but not shown on pieces. There aren't a lot of markings other than the name of the pattern piece and how many to cut. They are also nested and printed on both sides of the pattern sheet to conserve printing space. There is a really nice selection and they are beautifully executed.
INSTRUCTION RATING: Instructions are well broken down and have plenty of illustration for putting the outfits together. There is a color section in the middle with dolls modelling all the outfits.
SUMMARY- This design team has high standards and turns out lovely useful books. I Highly recommend them. They also put out a great newsletter - "Fancywork's Best News"(began in Fall 1994!) that ended January 2015 (issue is dated Summer 2013). The torch was passed to Marjie Swoyer's http://www.etsy.com/shop/TooCuteDollDesigns.
