SUMMARY- The language is somewhat stilted English, but perfectly understandable and grammatically correct - I had no difficulty following along, but it is clear the author's language isn't originally English. She provides some interesting history, then dives in to a primer on creating porcelain dolls from beginning to end(all in 112 pages!). When I am learning a new skill, I will pick up at least 5-6 books purporting to teach the skill from scratch this way, and I will sit down and read all of them, taking notes along the way. When I'm done reading them, I give it a try, then I reread them to pick up what I was too ignorant to catch the first time through. This method has worked pretty well for me over the years. Sometimes experts' advice will directly contradict each other. In those cases, I go with the majority until proven otherwise. If I had a sudden yen(and the space, and the tools and materials) to create porcelain dolls, I believe this is one of the books I'd use. I don't know what higher compliment I can give it.
