Title: Making a Kid Fashion Doll Body
Author: Neva Wade Garnett
Publication Date: Booklet:1987
Publisher: Hobby House Press, Inc., Cumberland, MD
Page Count: 16
Book Dimensions(ht. x w.): 11" x 8 1/2"
ISBN: 0-87588-293-5
PATTERN RATING: The pattern looks sound and well researched. I could have wished for more markings, though. You get one fashion doll pattern in one size that looks great made up.
INSTRUCTION RATING: Instructions are not well broken down and have no illustration to aid the crafter. If you don't already have solid experience as a dollmaker AND working with very fine leather, these instructions probably aren't going to be enough - and leather is expensive.
SUMMARY- I've worked with leather extensively, and was able to follow along with what she wrote fairly well, but I don't think a novice could. Take that into account when deciding to buy this book. The Kid leather body looks fantastic made up and exactly like pictures I've seen of antique dolls.
