Book Dimensions(ht. x w.): 11 1/4" x 9"

PATTERN RATING:Star Rating The author opted for pastel stenciling on her patterns that while pretty, isn't particularly helpful to the crafter. Markings are few, and the all important grainline arrow in particular isn't there. Seam allowances are stated in the directions, but not on the pattern pieces(grump).

INSTRUCTION RATING:Star Rating Instructions are broken down by body parts and in numbered steps - very helpful - but there is little illustration to go along with them.

SUMMARY- I don't know if you can finish one of these bears in two hours, but the patterns are definitely simplified to allow you to give it the old college try. Personality was more in the clothes she chose than in the bears themselves. I'm not a teddy bear person, so I was more generous with my ratings than I would have been with a book of say, horse patterns. Her patterns do have some variety, and aren't just the same bear dressed in different dresses, which tipped the scale from 2 to 3 for me on the patterns rating. I found the stenciling on the pattern pieces distracting and annoying(because she could have used that time and effort putting useful markings on her pattern pieces instead).
