PATTERN RATING: Patterns are all full-size, have some markings(but not grainline or seam allowances) to help the crafter, and are all on pull-out sheets in the middle of the booklet.
INSTRUCTION RATING: Instructions are not broken down and have very little illustration to help the crafter.
SUMMARY- These patterns are all reprints of patterns provided in the magazine publication "Country Handcrafts". The toys look great made up, and excellent full-color photos are provided for each of the Projects: Cornish Doll(by Loretta Daum Byrne), Clown Dolls(by Loretta Daum Byrne), Wooden Bed and Linens(by Loretta Daum Byrne, Sheep Push Toy(by Karen Hjemboe), Polly Ann Sock Doll(by Mary Tudor Smith), Riding Lamb(by Karen Hjemboe), Santa Baby Doll(Mary Tudor Smith), Amish Doll(by Roz Cimbalista), Plains Indian Doll and Tipi Doll House(by Loretta Daum Byrne. But if you are a beginning sewer, you'd be better off looking for a pattern with more heavily illustrated and broken down instructions. Experienced dollmakers won't have any problem.
I'm putting together a full run of "Country Handcrafts" since they tried to publish a soft toy pattern in each issue, but I only have about 1/2 the issues right now. I will try to have that bibliography up by summer of this year.
