Title: Toys to Knit
Author: Tracy Chapman
Publication Date: TPB:2005
Publisher: Potter Craft, NY
Page Count: 96
Book Dimensions(ht. x w.): 8 1/2" x 8 1/2"
ISBN: 030733659X
PATTERN RATING: . The patterns are fairly simple(no hands or feet on the doll for example). You get one base doll pattern(pancake - no gussets), then instructions on how to personalize it. You get knit costumes for a ballerina, sailor, fairy, Japanese girl, and rag doll with a wrap top, striped panties, skirt, Fair Isle sweater, pants, sleeveless top, Eskimo jacket, floppy brimmed hat, and shoes for boy or girl. For the animals, you get a monkey, fish, bumble bee, teddy bear, mouse, penguin, Kangaroo and baby, elephant and snake. For the nursery set you get patterns for a starfish, ball, blocks, octopus and mouse fingerpuppets, cat nightdress case, child's bag with frilly top or a striped bag. You can identify the animals for what they are - not so simple they become generic, and all the toys look attractive.
INSTRUCTION RATING:(UNRATED) I haven't knitted since I was a teenager, so I'm not qualified to rate these instructions.
SUMMARY- If I were looking for something to make up in a hurry and my knitting needles were my go to, I think this book has plenty to offer.
