PATTERN RATING:Star Rating Photos of each project are beautiful, and the projects themselves have very well chosen detail - even the earthworm and the cucumber have such defining characteristics to be both startling and very appealing. The diversity of patterns is great and certainly not run-of-the-mill.

INSTRUCTION RATING:Star Rating Instructions are very well broken down and easy to follow, she gives plenty of photo illustration throughout, with a really solid grounding of the basics at the front to get you started.

SUMMARY- I don't often think "price is no object" when I spot a toy book, but in this case I was so excited and entranced it didn't occur to me to check my receipt for how much it cost until I already had it home. It made me instantly glad I already knew how to knit. The Octopus, praying mantis and anglerfish on the cover alone were worth the price of admission - then I open it up and there's a jackalope and Nessie! All the projects are colorful, very well executed and extremely engaging, with a clear sense of humor and sense of play that can't be faked. What is shown on the cover is just the tip of the iceberg with this collection of patterns - yet another reason why this book is a must-have for any knitter who has kids or is a kid at heart themselves.
